Join weekly wheel-throwing classes at my studio in Blouberg, Cape Town. Discover the joy of pottery in these wheel throwing classes, perfect for beginners who want to experience the potter's wheel. Whether you're looking for a new hobby or a creative outlet, this is the best opportunity to explore the art of pottery in a relaxed and supportive environment. You'll be in a chill group of max 8 ppl (hand-builders included!) sharing the space, with only 3 spots available for wheel-throwers. Want to try handbuilding too? Swap over anytime! All materials are included: Clay, tools, equipment, underglazes, glazes, and firing is provided - just bring YOU! Small group = lots of tutor love 😊 Get thrown into pottery! MAY / Friday Mornings (4 classes): 9:30am till 12:00pm * 1 May 2026 * 8 May 2026 * 15 May 2026 * 22 May 2026 What you will learn: I will teach you the fundamentals of throwing on the potter's wheel, taking you through each step of the process, from centering your clay, to opening it up, pulling up the walls and showing you options to shape your piece. What you will make: Usually a small tumbler, and later on you will move onto making a vase, and bowls. This is an introductory session, please be gentle with yourself, pottery takes a lot of practice, be open to having fun! What should I bring: Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, make sure your nails are short if possible and bring a hair band to tie your hair back.
